Father Kevin Codd, who recently completed six years of service as rector of The American College in Louvain, Belgium, has been elevated to the rank of monsignor. Bishop Skylstad said that the installation ceremony will be held in Spokane.
At present, Msgr. Codd is on sabbatical. He is spending four months walking as a pilgrim from Louvain to Santiago de Compo-stela, Spain, a journey of some 1,500 miles.
His progress can be followed on a web site: http://kcodd.blogspot.com.
He is accepting pledges for the miles he completes on his journey.
Funds raised through the pledges will be used to continue renovations on the chapel at The American College, and add to the school’s endowment.
Msgr. Codd was ordained a priest for the Spokane Diocese Aug. 25, 1979. He served several parishes as a pastor, including St. Patrick in Walla Walla, the parishes in Brewster and Twisp, and Oroville.
He also spent a year in the diocese’s mission in Guatemala.
In 1999 he was named vice-rector of The American College, and was named rector in 2001.
Kevin Codd attended Mater Cleri Seminary in his freshman year.
