Joe Wilson here, class of '72.
I read in the Bellingham Herald today that
Joseph (Joe) Michael Anzalone (Mater Cleri class of '73) died of heart failure
Sep 5, 2008 in Copala, Mexico. Memorial services at St Patrick's in Spokane. He
had been living in Bellingham for a number of years, so a celebration of his
life will be held in Bellingham at a later date yet to be announced.
Hi. I just heard that Joe Anzalone died of a heart attack on September 5, 2008, in Mazatlan, Mexico, where he’s been living for the past 12 years. I spoke to his mother who filled me in briefly about his life. She said he left Mater Cleri at the end of his first semester there. He had an uncle who bought Joe and his siblings snow ski gear and paid for season’s tickets. Joe just couldn’t pass up the opportunity. He then went to Gonzaga Prep to complete high school. From there he went to Bellingham, WA, to attend Western Washington University. He settled there, raised a son and step-daughter, and owned a custom framing business. He also bought property and homes to fix up. He moved to Mazatlan where he bought a couple of houses that he fixed up and rented out.
On either October 3rd or 4th, the family will have a Memorial Mass and luncheon at St. Patrick’s Parish, 5021 N. Nelson, Spokane. A Celebration of Life is planned in Bellingham on October 10th. I will try to let you know the day and time they finalize for the Memorial Mass. His parents, Joe and Myrna, reside at 4523 W. Northwest Blvd., Spokane, WA, 99205.
I was unable to find an email address for Larry Grayhek. I believe they went to grade school together at St. Pat’s.
